World Series CD Special at South Jersey FCU - Local Only

read and submit comments for this post

South Jersey Federal Credit Union is offering a special 9-month share or IRA share certificate with a 1.71% APY. If the Phillies win the World Series, the credit union will bump up the APY to 1.76%. The CD must be purchased by 11/5/09, or before the World Series Champion is declared which may be tonight. It's fortunate that the series made it to game 6. The last time the World Series lasted at least 6 games was in 2003.

The extended series helped those who purchased the World Series CD at Numerica Credit Union. In that CD, the credit union is bumping the CD rate by 5 basis points for each game won by your team (see post).

South Jersey FCU membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in any of the following New Jersey communities: Atlantic City, Bridgeton, Camden, Millville, Pleasantville, Salem and Vineland. You can also be eligible via select employers or via family. Please see their membership eligibility page for more details. Membership requires a one-time $10 fee and a minimum deposit of $25 into the Statement Savings account.

Branches are located in the New Jersey cities of Deptford, Camden, Pleasantville, Egg Harbor Township, Vineland and Voorhees. There's also a new branch at Moorestown.

The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 3951).
